Always Tired Despite Sleeping Well? When Exhaustion Is More Than Physical (Therapy Pratice in Paris 10 - for Expats)
You may be getting enough sleep, yet still wake up feeling exhausted. Perhaps you feel drained from the moment your day begins, as though you're running on autopilot, or you never truly feel rested.
Many people assume this kind of fatigue is purely physical. Yet sometimes, our body is also expressing emotional or psychological exhaustion.
Fatigue Is Not Always Caused by a Lack of Sleep
Of course, not getting enough sleep—or poor-quality sleep—can leave you feeling exhausted. But when fatigue persists despite getting what seems to be enough rest, it may be worth looking beyond your sleeping habits.
Chronic stress, anxiety, mental load, relationship difficulties, or emotions that have been pushed aside for a long time can consume a great deal of energy, often without us fully realizing it.
In a way, our body keeps "working," even when we think we are resting.
Signs of Emotional Exhaustion
Emotional exhaustion can take many different forms:
feeling drained, even after a weekend or a holiday;
finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate;
feeling that everyday tasks require much more effort than before;
becoming more irritable or emotionally sensitive;
feeling as though you are simply getting through the day rather than truly living it.
These signs do not necessarily mean that you are experiencing burnout, but they are worth paying attention to.
When Your Body Is Trying to Tell You Something
Sometimes we keep going no matter what—meeting expectations, taking care of others, managing everything—without asking ourselves what we truly need.
When we repeatedly ignore our emotions or push aside our own limits, our body may eventually begin to send signals.
Fatigue then becomes less something to fight against and more an invitation to slow down and better understand what is draining our energy.
Therapy: A Space to Restore Your Energy
When we feel exhausted, our first instinct is often to try to "get our energy back." But it can be just as important to understand where that energy is being spent.
Therapy offers a space to step back, put words to what you are experiencing, and better understand the patterns that may be maintaining this exhaustion.
As you gradually restore a healthier balance between your needs, your emotions, and your daily life, it often becomes possible to feel more present, more alive, and to regain a more sustainable sense of energy.
My Approach
As a Psychopractitioner trained in Psycho-Organic Analysis, I support adults who wish to better understand their emotions, navigate periods of fatigue or change, and find greater balance in their personal or professional lives.
Psycho-Organic Analysis is a humanistic approach that considers the whole person: emotions, body, thoughts, and personal history.
I offer a warm and supportive space where you can explore your experience at your own pace, without judgment.
I welcome clients at my practice in Paris 10th, near Place de la République, in both French and English, and I also offer online sessions.
In Summary
Feeling constantly tired does not always mean that you are simply lacking sleep. Sometimes, fatigue reflects prolonged stress, emotional overload, or needs that have been neglected for too long.
Listening to your fatigue, rather than fighting against it, can be the first step toward restoring balance.
👉 If you feel that your exhaustion cannot be explained by a lack of sleep alone, I would be happy to support you in exploring its underlying causes and helping you regain a greater sense of well-being.
